School Education Deptt refutes news article on Teachers shortage at GHSS Pakhlai

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 25: The Education Department Udhampur refuted a news article published in Amar Ujala on June 24, 2024, concerning shortage of teachers at Government Higher Secondary School Pakhlai.


Chief Education Officer, Udhampur clarified that the report in Amar Ujala is misleading, exaggerated and not based on facts. While providing the staff details of GHSS Pakhlai to correct the misinformation she stated that, the school has a total enrollment of 263 students and 27 sanctioned teaching positions. These positions include one principal, 11 lecturers, six masters, and nine general line teachers (GLTs). All important positions are currently filled and one from PS Telli Mohalla is also deployed in the school.


She further added that ATD is going to be held soon which will provide lectures and process of providing CRC where ever required will be provided soon at Zone-3 or Zone-4.


The CEO emphasized that the Student-Teacher ratio at GHSS Pakhlai is 16.5:1 which is higher than UT or national average.
