Hindi resounds on the second day of 07-Day Poetry Festival at JKAACL Jammu

Jammu, Dec 22: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) has successfully organised a day dedicated to the Hindi language during the 07-Day Poetry Festival at JKAACL premises in Jammu. The Poetry Festival intends to accommodate more than 150 poets of seven different languages: Urdu, Hindi, Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gojri, and Pahari — with a day dedicated to every single language.

Sh. Rajinder Sharma, Hon’ble Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), was the Chief Guest on this auspicious occasion. The event was presided over by Dr Satish Vimal, an acclaimed literary personality of the region. Dr Adarsh Prakash, a celebrated poet, was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

Sh. Bharat Singh (JKAS), Secretary JKAACL, gave a heartfelt welcome to everyone. While addressing the audience, he extolled the contribution of the Hindi language to society; he further affirmed that JKAACL shall continue to work towards endeavours aimed at the promotion of regional culture.

In his presidential address Rajinder Sharma, Mayor of Jammu, congratulated and applauded the initiative of Sh. Bharat Singh, Secretary (JKAACL), and congratulated the efforts of JKAACL for taking up such endeavours.

Professor Raj Kumar, Naresh Kumar Udas (Awardee), Anila Singh Charak (Awardee), Maharaj Krishen Bharat (Awardee), Shyam Bihari Juneja (Awardee), Pawan Khajuria, Kamaljeet Chaudhary, Arvind Sharma, Sheikh Mohammad Kalyan, Rakesh Abrol, Sonia Upadhayaye, Indu Bhushan Bali, Vijay Sharma, Bindiya Tickoo, Sham Lal Khajuria, Babita Rani, Kalpana Khajuria, Naresh Khajuria, Ram Krishen, Iqbal Khullar, and Tanuj Siyal Anuj graced the event and spellbound the audience with their poetical renditions.

Mrs Reeta Khadyal, Assistant Editor (Dogri) at JKAACL, conducted the proceedings on the second day of the Poetry Festival. Dr Ratan Basotra, Editor (Dogri) cum Incharge Translation and Research Centre (TRC) at JKAACL, expressed a vote of thanks to the august gathering for their valuable presence at the event.

On Friday, 23rd December 2022, the JKAACL is dedicating the third day of the Poetry festival to the Kashmiri Language.

The audience enthusiastically relished the grandeur of the literary expression. The Cultural Academy’s effort in promoting cultural sensitivities is receiving laud from the art and culture connoisseurs of the region.
