Leprosy screening camp held at Sub Centre Labber

DODA, JULY 7: After a hotspot survey in the village of Sarak Marmat in Block Assar, the District Leprosy Society Doda organized a skin camp at AAM Sub Centre Labbar.


During the camp, 15 patients with skin diseases were examined and provided treatment. Additionally, approximately 60 patients with other diseases were assessed by Dr. Javed Ahmed Parray, Medical Officer, and the LCU team, with five patients referred to GMC Doda.


Self-care kits and MCR sandals were distributed to newly detected patients, and awareness about leprosy was provided to the general public.


During the hotspot survey, the team visited 73 houses adjacent to the newly detected patient, screening 387 individuals. Out of these, five suspected cases were identified and referred to AAM Labbar, where they were examined by the team.


The health team from the CMO Office Doda included Mr. Surinder Singh, Paramedical Supervisor; Mr. Ram Raj, Para Medical Assistant; and Farooq Ahmed, JHI.

Additionally, the event also served as an opportunity to raise awareness about malaria.
