Awareness Program on Child Helpline, BBBP, and PMMVY held in Ramban
RAMBAN, JULY 10: An impactful awareness program on the Child Helpline, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), and Panjikaran Abhiyan under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) was conducted yesterday in Ramban.
The event was led by Pooja Devi, Counselor of the Child Helpline under the overall supervision of the District Social Welfare Officer, Rahul Gupta.
The session aimed to educate the local community about the vital child protection services available through the Child Helpline, the significance of empowering and educating girls under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, and the registration process for expecting mothers under the PMMVY scheme.
Pooja Devi highlighted the critical role of the Child Helpline in providing immediate assistance and support to children in distress. She explained the various services offered and urged the community to utilize the helpline for safeguarding children’s rights and welfare.
The program also emphasized the BBBP campaign, encouraging the community to prioritize the education and empowerment of girls. The initiative aims to address the declining child sex ratio and promote gender equality through focused interventions.
Furthermore, the Panjikaran Abhiyan under PMMVY was discussed in detail, with Pooja Devi outlining the benefits of the scheme for pregnant women and lactating mothers. The registration process and eligibility criteria were explained, encouraging eligible women to enroll and avail the financial support provided by the government.
The awareness session saw active participation from community members, local leaders, and representatives from various social welfare organizations. The attendees expressed their appreciation for the informative session and committed to spreading the message within their communities.
