DC Kupwara chairs DLC meeting under HADP

Sets panchayat wise targets for departments, report to be submitted every day


KUPWARA, JULY 12: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today stressed upon the concerned officers of Agriculture and allied departments to improve their performance or face action. She was reviewing the progress of the departments under Holistic Agriculture Development Program in the District Level Committee (DLC) meeting here today.


Expressing serious displeasure over the dismal performance of the Agriculture and allied departments under the HADP, the Deputy Commissioner warned the concerned officers to improve their work otherwise they will face action.


While setting targets for the departments, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure submission of panchayat wise daily report on the coverage of beneficiaries which shall reach her office by 5 pm every day. She impressed upon them to categorize and submit the reasons for rejection of HADP cases so as to closely monitor the performance.


The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of all Agriculture zones and enquired about the number of beneficiaries covered from the given farmer population. She stressed upon the officers to gear up the work to achieve the set targets.


Earlier, it was informed in the meeting that 8114 applications under HADP were received online by different departments including Agriculture, Horticulture department, Horticulture- P&M, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Sericulture departments. Out of these, 3881 applications were approved, 2950 are pending and 1283 stands rejected.


ADDC Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, Chief Agriculture Officer, CPO, besides, District/Zonal Officers of Agriculture and allied departments and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
