DDC B’la reviews beautification works in Baramulla Town

BARAMULLA, JULY 15: In a significant move towards enhancing the aesthetic appeal and infrastructure of Baramulla town, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) chaired a meeting of officers today at the meeting hall of the DC office, here to review beautification works in Baramulla town.


The meeting focused on current works being executed for the beautification of the town which encompass various aspects of urban development and civic amenities, including street lighting, road macadamization, drainage system upgradation, parking facilities, tree plantation and the establishment of vendor zones.


During the meeting, the DDC issued specific directives to the officers present, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach towards town beautification.


The DDC placed a strong emphasis on road infrastructure, prioritizing the macadamization of main roads, inner links, and instructed the concerned officers to plan effectively to ensure timely completion thereby meeting the set deadlines.


He also called for an extensive drainage system to be implemented to ensure efficient water flow and prevent flooding during the rainy season, significantly improving the town’s resilience to adverse weather conditions.


Meanwhile, to curb the chaotic practice of random parking in town, Minga Sherpa issued directions for upgradation of parking spaces in the town premises to avoid any traffic congestion.


The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla, Arshad Ahmad Khan; ARTO Baramulla, Tehsildar Baramulla, Executive Officer MC Baramulla and officers from the Police Department.
