Delegation of Shizuoka prefecture, Japan calls on Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], July 17 (ANI): A delegation of 18 members from Japan’s Shizuoka Prefecture paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. The delegation was headed by Atsuyuki Rachi, a member of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly of Japan and Secretary General of the India-Japan Friendship Parliamentary League of the Assembly.

In this courtesy call meeting with the Chief Minister, the Japanese delegation spoke of the long-term relations between the two countries in the fields of education and research and tourism and culture in addition to commercial relations with Gujarat.

The Shizuoka region ranks as the fourth most important Made in Japan industry in Japan. The Japanese delegation also stressed on the importance in the Shizuoka region for automobile industries such as Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda and Toyota.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel welcomed the delegation and said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India-Japan relations have progressed like trusted friends. He expressed confidence that Gujarat will take these bilateral relations further.

The Chief Minister added that just like the credibility of ‘Made in Japan’, ‘Make in India’ is committed to environmental friendliness and world-class products with the Zero Defect-Zero Effect mantra.

The Chief Minister stressed on providing a favourable environment for the Japanese industries operating in Gujarat. The CM said that the approach of the government is proactive so that industries do not face any problems and the Indo-Japan bilateral Relations continue to progress consistently.

The CM also appreciated the cooperation and contribution of Japan as a partner country in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.

The head of the delegation Atsuyuki Rachi extended an invitation to CM Bhupendra Patel to visit Japan and his region. He added that the Governor of his region is also keen to visit India and Gujarat in the coming months. He also expressed readiness to sign an MOU in the field of trade, and industry to make Gujarat-Shizuoka relations more fruitful.
