Naxalite killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur
Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 19 (ANI): A Naxalite was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Friday, officials said.
According to police, the encounter took place between forces of Telangana greyhounds, Chhattisgarh District Reserve Guards (DRG) and Naxal in the forests of Semaldodi on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border under Elmidi police station area of Bijapur.
After the encounter, the body of a male Naxal and a carbine, grenade, Naxal uniform, Pitthu and Naxal literature have also been recovered from the spot of the incident, they said, adding that an intensive search was going on around the site of the incident.

Earlier, two personnel of the DRG were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Thursday.
According to Bijapur Superintendent of Police (SP) Jitendra Kumar Yadav, “Two DRG soldiers were injured in a pressure IED explosion planted by Naxalites in the forests of Mudvendi village in the Gangaluur police station area.” The injured jawans are out of danger, SP Yadav added.
