Congress intensifies protest against surge in Terrorist Attacks across Jammu Region

People decrying for basic amenities under BJP regime: Uday, Hari Singh Chib

JAMMU, July 24 In response to the recent surge in terrorist attacks across the Jammu region, the Congress Party staged a protest today in Barnai ward no 65 in Jammu North Assembly constituency. The demonstration was headed by Uday Bhanu Chib, General Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress, who took a strong stance against the current state of security in the region.

The protesters gathered in large numbers, voicing their concerns over the rising violence and insecurity that has plagued Jammu in recent weeks. Hari Singh Chib, Vice President JKPCC was also joined the protest.

Talking to reporters, Uday Chib, General Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress, strongly condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government for its handling of the deteriorating situation in the Jammu region. He criticized the BJP for its failure to deliver effective governance and adequately safeguard the lives and well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The senior Congress leader highlighted the acute shortage of essential amenities, including power and drinking water, which has severely impacted the daily lives of residents. He said BJP’s inability to address these critical issues has exacerbated the challenges faced by the people, leading to widespread dissatisfaction and hardship.

Chib asserted, “The BJP has deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir of a democratically elected government, leaving them vulnerable to rising terrorist threats. It is high time the BJP takes responsibility for this alarming situation and acts decisively to restore peace and stability.” He called for immediate intervention to rectify the situation and urged the government to prioritize the basic needs of the population to ensure their safety and quality of life.

Hari Singh Chib, another senior Congress leader, who highlighted the urgent need for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that only a democratically elected government could effectively address the security concerns and provide the necessary support to the affected communities.


“The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve a government that is accountable and responsive to their needs. The BJP’s mismanagement has left the region in a state of turmoil. We demand the immediate restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir to ensure that the people’s voices are heard and their safety is prioritized,” he added.

The protesting Congress leaders called on the central government to take immediate action to address the security challenges in Jammu and restore peace to the region.
