Secretary Culture visits JKAACL, Abhinav Theatre

JAMMU, February 15: On his first day in office, the Secretary of the Department of Culture, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, IAS, visited

the Abhinav Theatre, the face of the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, Jammu, and
discussed in detail the issues concerning the revival of Abhinav Theatre and asked about the concerns to
expedite the process for renovation and functioning of the theatre.

Mr Sanjeev Rana, Additional Secretary (JKAACL), and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL’s
Divisional Office Jammu, welcomed Dr Syed.
The Secretary was accompanied by Mrs Trishla Kundal, Special Secretary; Mr Toufail Matto, Officer on Special.

Duty; Mr Satnam Singh, Director Finance; Mr Vishwa Jeet, Additional Secretary; Mr Abdul Qayume, Deputy
Secretary; and other officers of the Culture Department.

Dr Syed interacted with the officers and officials of the JKAACL and heard their grievances patiently. He
showed serious concerns about the long-pending promotions and recruitments in JKAACL. He also interacted

with the artists present there and listened to their feedback and concerns to get a holistic viewpoint of the
issues.

Overall, his visit was productive and showed his dedication to reviving the Abhinav Theatre and addressing
the concerns of JKAACL and its employees.
