GDC Ramgarh organizes awareness program on ‘Ill effects of Drug Use’
SAMBA, JULY 26: In a significant step toward addressing the growing concern of drug abuse, Government Degree College Ramgarh, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Samba, organized an impactful awareness program on the ill effects of drug use.
The whole event was organized under the able guidance and supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College.
The initiative aimed to educate students about the severe consequences of drug abuse and to promote preventive measures. The event commenced with a welcoming address by Rahul Sharma, Panel Advocate, DLSA Samba.
He highlighted the severe health risks linked to drug use, including addiction, mental health issues, and physical deterioration. He also discussed the legal penalties for drug-related offenses and the importance of adherence to the law to prevent such outcomes. Emphasizing the role of education and awareness in preventing drug abuse, Sharma encouraged students to actively participate in drug prevention initiatives.
The program was honored by the presence of Ajay, Civil Judge Junior Division, Samba, as the chief guest. He delivered a compelling keynote address, shedding light on the multifaceted impacts of drug use. He discussed the legal ramifications, including the potential for criminal charges and long-term legal consequences. He emphasized the importance of understanding the serious health risks associated with drug abuse and highlighted the role of the legal system in both prevention and intervention.
The event was attended by all the faculty members and students.
