IWMP Kishtwar discusses Production System & Livelihood Plans with self help groups at Affani
KISHTWAR, JULY 26: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Phulail Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development Kishtwar who is also holding the charge of Project Manager, Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) Kishtwar, at the Panchayat Ghar in Affani, to discuss the preparation of plans under the production system and livelihood component.
The meeting was attended by employees of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Self help groups, members of the Watershed Committees, and local residents. The objective of the meeting was to involve the community in the planning process and ensure that their needs and aspirations are taken into account.
During the meeting, the Project Manager emphasized the importance of community participation through Self help groups in the successful implementation of the programme. The NRLM employees presented an overview of the production system and livelihood component, and the Watershed Committees shared their experiences and suggestions.
The locals actively participated in the discussion, sharing their ideas and concerns regarding the plan. The meeting concluded with a consensus on the way forward, and the Project Manager assured the community that their inputs would be incorporated into the plan.
The meeting was hailed as a success, and it is expected that the collaborative effort will lead to the development of a comprehensive plan that addresses the livelihood needs of the community.
