Indian Navy Chief interacts with Marine Commando personnel during his Kargil Vijay Diwas visit
Kargil (Ladakh) [India], July 27 (ANI): Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi during his visit to Drass for the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations interacted with MARCOs, the elite Marine Commando Force of the Indian Navy deployed there.
Admiral Tripathi was briefed about the operational activities, recent tasking, and missions undertaken by the manine commandos, the Indian Navy said in a statement.
The Navy Chief visited the Kargil War Memorial in Drass on July 26 for the Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti celebrations.
The Navy Chief praised the MARCOs contingent for their professional conduct and urged them to continue serving the nation with pride and honour, in line with the Indian Navy’s core values of duty, honour, and courage.
In a post on X, the Indian Navy stated, “CNS appreciated the professional conduct of the MARCOs contingent & exhorted personnel to continue serving the nation with pride & honour aligned to IndianNavy’s core values Duty Honour Courage.”
Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on July 26, commemorates the success of Operation Vijay in 1999. During this conflict, Indian forces successfully reclaimed strategic positions in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir that had been infiltrated by Pakistani soldiers and terrorists.
