DLSA Ramban holds Training program for the members of the JJB, CWC, Panel Lawyers

RAMBAN, JULY 28: The District Legal Services Authority, Ramban organized a training program for the members of the Juvenile Justice Board, Ramban, Children Welfare Committee, Ramban and Panel Lawyers working under DLSA Ramban at Juvenile Justice Board, Ramban.


The training program was organized under the guidance of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Ramban, Ranbir Singh Jasrotia, and was attended by Secretary, DLSA Ramban, Anjana Rajput, who is also heads the Juvenile Justice Board, Ramban as Principal Magistrate and Chairperson, Children Welfare Committee, Ramban, Nighat Ara Ghani.


The training was also attended by Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Kumar Harshvijay Singh, along with Panel Lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers and other staff and members of DLSA Ramban, Juvenile Justice Board and Children Welfare Committee, district Ramban.


The Principal Magistrate emphasized the significance of Juvenile Justice Act and highlighted the importance of juvenile centric laws and sensitized the present members about how to deal with cases when a juvenile is involved in criminal activities.


She also mentioned the process followed by the JJB while dealing with juveniles so as to take care of their physical and mental well-being.


The Chairperson CWC threw light on taking care of children in conflict with law, complexities involving child custody, guardianship and importance of attending to basic needs and amenities such as education, physical and mental well-being of the affected children. She mentioned that the main objective of the CWC is to foster a sense of confidence and awareness within the observation homes, ultimately contributing to a more supportive and protective environment for children.


The attendees actively participated in discussions and raised question about the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
