DDC Reasi initiates cleanliness, plantation drive under Swachhta Pakhwara

REASI, AUGUST 01: To promote cleanliness and hygiene, the District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, inaugurated the Swachhta Pakhwara “The Shuchita Sangram” at Fawara Chowk today.


The event aims to raise awareness and encourage the community to actively participate in cleanliness drives.


The inauguration ceremony witnessed a vibrant Nukad Natak performed by Happy Group Production which emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings. Their engaging performance highlighted the collective responsibility of citizens in ensuring a clean and healthy environment.


In a further step to boost the cleanliness initiative, the Swachhta Van was also flagged off. This mobile unit will play a pivotal role in spreading awareness and educating the public on effective waste management practices and the importance of keeping the environment clean.


A large-scale cleanliness drive was conducted, starting from Fawara Chowk to Ban Ganga. Simultaneously, another drive took place at Aghar Jitto. Students, Teachers Volunteers, local residents, Tourist and officials enthusiastically participated in these drives, demonstrating their commitment to making Katra a cleaner and greener place.
As part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwara, a significant plantation drive was also held at Aghar Jitto under the theme ‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’.


Speaking at the event, DDC Vishesh Mahajan expressed his gratitude to all participants and emphasized the need for continuous efforts to maintain cleanliness. He urged the community to adopt sustainable practices and contribute to the Swachh Bharat mission.


The Swachhta Pledge was taken by all participants to keep their surroundings clean.
