New Road projects to include safety measures in Doda district, Surveillance Cameras proposed for 4 major junctions

DODA, February 16: District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) which met here today asked the Executing agencies to include all road safety apparatus while formulating the Road projects.

The Committee (DRSC) met under the chairmanship of its chairman (DC) Vishesh Paul Mahajan to assess the availability and requirement of infrastructure and allied issues for road safety, and measures to prevent road accidents.

The committee also decided to install CCTV cameras at Assar, Pul Doda, Ganpat Bridge, Thathri and at the entry point of Bhaderwah for better surveillance and traffic management on the highway.

 At Pul Doda a District Assistance Booth with officials of traffic police, MVD and construction agencies shall be established for assistance of the commuters.

 The executing agencies were further directed to submit the report on road safety measures taken up in the last three years and the future plan.

The meeting also decided to introduce small reading books in the Middle Standard Schools and the above classes to teach the students about the importance of traffic rules and other moral values as a part of extracurricular activity.

The DRSC also discussed the implementation of previous decisions and Road safety funds, iRAD, and other issues.
