DLSA Samba organises awareness programme on cyber crimes

SAMBA, AUGUST 03: As per the directions of Adnan Sayeed, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, and Pr. District and Sessions Judge, Samba, District Legal Services Authority, Samba today organized a one day sensitization programme on “Cyber Crimes with special reference to digital arrest/spoofing etc and its preventive measures” at District Court Complex Samba.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Adnaan Sayeed, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Samba in the presence of Mohammad Yaseen Kichloo, SSP Cyber Investigation Centre for Excellence, J&K and all the Judicial Officers of District Court Samba. In his special address Worthy Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Samba highlighted how Judicial Institutions who are the projectors of justice are vulnerable to Cyber threats and how collectively we can stay informed and vigilant against these ever changing threats so that we can prevent such crimes to happen in future.

SSP Cyber Investigation Centre for Excellence, J&K in his key note speech as well as through Powerpoint presentation discussed in depth what is cyber crime, its different types, the modes operandi of cyber criminals to befool the common man and what are the preventive measures to curb and combat cyber threats.

Questions and Answers session was also there in which participants got clarified their queries from the resource person.

The program had the presence of Chief Prosecuting Officer and his team of Prosecuting Officers, President Bar Association Samba, Trainee Judges, Senior Advocates, Officers of LADCs, Young Bar Members, Senior Staff Members, Panel Advocates, Staff Members and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Samba.

Preet Simran K Grover conveyed the vote of thanks whereas Rekha Kapoor Nischal presented welcome address. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Hitesh Sharma, Legal Aid Counsel, Samba. A light refreshment was also served to the participants.
