Swachhata Pakhwada: B’pora Admin launches major Clean-Up Drive to tackle Legacy Waste

BANDIPORA, AUGUST 05: In a significant effort to combat waste accumulation, the District Administration Bandipora today successfully executed an ambitious clean-up drive under the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign.


Today, 51 legacy waste sites across the district were cleared as part of this initiative.


Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Bandipora, Irfan Bahadur said that as part of Swachhta Pakhwada, major clean up drives were carried out today for removal of long-standing waste from these sites, highlighting the district administration’s dedication to a cleaner and greener Bandipora.


This drive represents a major milestone in the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada initiative, aimed at addressing and eliminating legacy waste build-up.


Equipped with modern tools and driven by a strong resolve, the dedicated teams from the Rural Development Department (RDD) effectively managed the clean-up of these legacy waste sites.


ACD said that, in addition to removing the waste, many of these sites will be repurposed into parks. This transformation will provide much-needed green spaces for the community, enhancing the environmental benefits of the initiative and improving the overall quality of life in the district, he added.
