Swachhata Pakhwada Campaign: Plantation drives held at Anantnag

ANANTNAG, AUGUST 05: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid today visited Nangdandi and Brakpora areas of the district to attend two Swachhata Pakhwada events in the district.


During the visit, the DC took part in the tree sapling plantation drive at Nagdandi which was organised by the Forest department. In his remarks, the DC said that such activities add to environmental sustainability and these are a part of a broader initiative for a cleaner and greener Anantnag.


At Government High School, Brakpora the DC accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner Panchayats and Assistant Commissioner Development Anantnag paid floral tributes to the martyrs and undertook a separate plantation drive.


Similar plantation drives were also held under the paradigm of ‘Ek Pedh Shaheedo ke Naam’ across panchayats and municipal wards of Anantnag. In addition to these, the Municipal Council Anantnag organised a massive cleanup of dumpsites and black spots within the municipal limits of Anantnag.


The Swachhta Pakhwada campaign in Anantnag will continue over the next two weeks, with various awareness programs, community clean-up drives, and other initiatives planned across the district.
