Health checkup, awareness camp held at Madrassa Gatha under Swacchta Pakhwada Campaign

DODA , AUGUST 07: Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh and the supervision of DHS Jammu, Director FW Immunization & MCH J&K, and CMO Doda, Dr. Om Kumar, a health checkup and awareness camp was organized at Madrassa Gatha in Medical Block Bhaderwah.

The camp was part of the ongoing Swacchta Pakhwada campaign, which aims to promote cleanliness and hygiene in the community.

During the camp, a dedicated health team, including DIO Dr. Versha Sharma, BMO Bhaderwah Dr. Mohd Ashraf, Consultant Paediatrics Dr. Sangeeta Kotwal, and other health staff, screened 100 students for vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD), tuberculosis (TB), and other medical conditions. The team also sensitized the students and staff of the Madrassa about the prevention of Chickenpox and emphasized the importance of maintaining good health and hygiene practices.

Additionally, the health team collected blood samples from students presenting with various health conditions to conduct further medical evaluations. Free medicines were distributed to those in need, ensuring that immediate medical care was provided. The camp aimed not only to address existing health issues but also to educate the young students on disease prevention and the significance of personal and environmental cleanliness.

The Swacchta Pakhwada campaign continues to make strides in improving community health and hygiene standards. Such initiatives are crucial in raising awareness and providing essential healthcare services to underserved populations, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
