ALC Ramban releases Rs. 11.59 lakh injury compensation in favour 2 construction workers
RAMBAN, February 17: The Labour Department Ramban today provided Rs. 11.59 lakh to two construction workers as injury compensation.
Ganesh Singh, working with Patel Engineering Company, has been awarded Rs. 10.59 Lakh, while Shabir Ahmed working with a local Contractor got Rs. 1 lakh compensation benefit under the scheme of J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB).
Handing over the cheque to the beneficiaries, the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Dr Sushant Mahajan, emphasized the importance of providing adequate support and guidance to workers working in the construction sector.
In addition, the Assistant Labour Commissioner also released an amount of Rs 3.20 lakh in favour of the wards of registered construction workers as Higher Education Assistance under the J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB).
Dr. Mahajan also highlighted the various initiatives taken by the government to ensure the welfare of workers in the construction sector, including the provision of health and safety measures at work sites and the establishment of a database of registered workers to ensure that they receive timely and adequate support.
The ALC stated that the government has launched several schemes for the welfare of Building and other Construction workers with the objective of regulating the employment and conditions of service and providing safety, health and welfare measures to the registered workers.
