Awareness Camp on social issues held at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 08: In a concerted effort to raise awareness on crucial social issues, the Child Development Project Offices (CDPO) in Ganderbal and Kangan today hosted a comprehensive awareness camp.

The event was organized by Sankalp Ganderbal in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Social Welfare Department, and the School Education Department.

The awareness camp covered a range of topics including the JK Samhadhan grievance redressal system, gender issues, Swachhta Pakhwada, and the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.

The camp was attended by CDPO’s, Supervisors and AWW’s.

At CDPO office Ganderbal, officials emphasized the importance of JK Samadhan, explaining how residents can utilize the platform to voice their grievances and seek timely resolutions.

The session on gender issues was particularly impactful, with interactive discussions on women’s rights, gender equality and measures to combat gender-based violence.
As part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada campaign, the event featured a plantation drive followed by a solemn pledge ceremony.

The plantation drive, led by the CDPO Kangan and Sankalp hub, saw active participation from Anganwadi Workers. They planted a variety of saplings in and around the CDPO office premises, aiming to enhance the local green cover and contribute to environmental sustainability.

Following the plantation drive, the CDPO Kangan administered a Swachhta Pledge to the Anganwadi Workers.

Additionally, the SVEEP initiative saw an enthusiastic response as officials provided guidance on the electoral process, stressing the importance of active voter participation.

Both events highlighted the collaborative efforts of various government departments in addressing key issues and fostering a more informed and proactive community.
