Group of farmers flagged-off for Exposure Tour at Bandipora

BANDIPORA, AUGUST 08: A group of 52 Silkworm Rearers (Farmers) was today flagged-off by Additional Deputy Commissioner, (ADC) Bandipora, Umar Shafi Pandit from Mini Secretariat Bandipora for an exposure tour.

It was informed that the group is set to embark on an exposure tour to various key sericulture sites, including the Temperate Sericulture Research Institute (TSRI) Mirgund, Basic Seed Station Mirgund, Silk Reeling Unit Bombyx Mori Silks in Khonmoh, CSR&TI and Central Silk Board (CSB) Pampore.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC emphasized the significance of such exposure visits for the Silkworm Rearing community, including farmers, youth, and womenfolk.

The District Sericulture Officer stated that the exposure tour is aimed at providing practical insights and first-hand experience in contemporary sericulture techniques and practices. The participants of this tour have previously attended Skill Development programmes in Sericulture under the HADP and Silk Samagra-2.
