University of Ladakh signs MoU in Presence of Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal, strengthening Educational and Developmental Ties
Leh August 09,2024: – Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Prof. S K Mehta, Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh and Dr Sunil Shukla, Director General, Entrepreneurship Development institute of India (EDII) in Presence of Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Advisor to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, UT Ladakh.
The purpose of this MoU is to support the UT of Ladakh in building one of the most entrepreneurship-friendly destinations in India by promoting entrepreneurship education, training, policy research and incubation support across the UT of Ladakh. Under this MoU, EDII will implement the Entrepreneurship Development Activities such as; Creation of Project Profiles on emerging business opportunities (such as Ethno-Religious Tourism, Handicrafts, AYUSH and Wellness; Food-Processing, Pashmina, Wood carving, Copper Utensils etc.) and make these available to the students; Creation of a pool of Start-up Mentors and Industry Experts to mentor and handhold existing and future Start-ups/Ventur;Conducting Entrepreneurship Development Programmes to Students of UT; Promoting start-ups and innovations through training, counselling, mentoring and handholding intervention; Support in Creation of ‘Start-up, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Policy’.
In addition to the implementation of the Entrepreneurship Development initiatives in the UT, EDII will also establish & handhold the ‘Entrepreneurship Development Institute of Ladakh (EDIL)’ in collaboration with the UT Administration of Ladakh, to create start-ups, innovative and traditional enterprises that can sustain, grow and create jobs.
During the signing ceremony Dr. Amit Kumar Dwivedi and Shri. Pravir Krishna Retd. (IAS) from EDII and Dr. Subrat Sharma, Dean Research and Dr. Mohd Rafee, Assistant Professor from University of Ladakh were present on the occasion.
