Swachhata Pakhwada: Cleanliness, Plantation drive held at Sonmarg

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 12: As part of Swachhata Pakhwada (Cleanliness Fortnight) campaign, Sonmarg Development Authority today organised a cleanliness cum plantation drive at Sonmarg.


The drive was organised under supervision of Gulzar Ahmad Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and CEO of the Sonamarg Development Authority.


The day long event witnessed participation from various departments, including Jal Shakti, Rural Development Wildlife deptt and police besides NGOs and locals reflecting a unified effort to address cleanliness and hygiene issues at world famous tourist destination Sonmarg.


The event featured a significant plantation drive, a gesture that added a green dimension to the cleanliness efforts. This drive included the planting of trees dedicated to the memory of fallen heros of our mother land.


The collective efforts of all involved highlighted the importance of cleanliness and hygiene and served as a reminder of the role of each individual in maintaining the gold like shine of Sonmarg and the environmental conservation.


Through such initiatives, SDA aims to inspire residents and visitors to actively participate in creating and preserving a healthier and more beautiful environment.
