GCW Gandhi Nagar organizes mass pledge under “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan”
JAMMU, AUGUST 14: In a significant step towards raising awareness and commitment to a drug-free India, Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, today participated in a countrywide mass pledge ceremony under the aegis of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.” The event was held in the college auditorium, with the theme for this year, “Viksit Bharat ka Mantra, Bharat ho Nashe se Swatantra,” resonating throughout the program.
Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare, Sheetal Nanda administered the oath in which teachers and students from different Schools and Colleges across J&K pledged to work against drug abuse.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of the college’s worthy Principal, Dr SP Saraswat, dedicated staff, and enthusiastic students, all of whom came together to take a solemn pledge to work towards a drug-free society. The event was convened by the Nodal Officer, NCORD, Dr. Liaqat Jafri, who led the proceedings with a heartfelt address, emphasizing the importance of collective action in eradicating the menace of drug abuse from the country.
In his address, the principal highlighted the role of educational institutions in shaping the future of the nation and the responsibility they bear in guiding the youth towards a healthy and prosperous life. He urged the students to be vigilant and proactive in spreading awareness about the dangers of drug addiction, encouraging them to be ambassadors of change within their communities.
The staff and students participated in the pledge with great fervor, vowing to contribute to the national mission of a drug-free India.
