Chairperson DDC inspects arrangements for Urs Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari at Ganderbal
GANDERBAL, AUGUST 14: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq today visited the shrine of Hazrat Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari at Reshioora Saloora, Ganderbal, to inspect and review the arrangements for the ongoing Urs celebration, which commenced on August 12, 2024.
During her visit, Chairperson DDC chaired a comprehensive review meeting with the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, and senior officers from various line departments.
The meeting focused on assessing and ensuring the adequacy of arrangements for power supply, safe drinking water, firefighting measures, traffic and parking plans, sanitation and other related matters.
Nuzhat Ishfaq directed all concerned departments to ensure that their respective arrangements are in place and fully functional throughout the Urs Mubarak celebrations.
She emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in and around the shrine and instructed the Municipal Council Ganderbal to take necessary actions to uphold hygiene.
Additionally, the PDD was directed to ensure a continuous 24/7 power supply in the area.
Furthermore, police and traffic officials were instructed to implement proper security measures and regulate traffic on the routes leading to the shrine. The Assistant Regional Transport Officer was also tasked with making proper transport and parking arrangements to facilitate the smooth movement of pilgrims and visitors.
The DDC Chairperson expressed her commitment to ensuring a hassle-free and spiritually fulfilling experience for all devotees participating in the Urs.
She urged all departments to work in close coordination and to address any issues promptly to ensure the successful culmination of the Urs Mubarak.
