Forest Department celebrates 78th Independence Day across J&K
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 15: To mark the celebrations of 78th Independence Day, Jammu & Kashmir Forest Department today organised various events at all the district and sub district levels.
The main function was held at Forest Complex Sheikh Bagh, Srinagar where the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & HoFF, B.K. Singh hoisted the National flag and addressed the participants.
Similar events were organised in different Forest Divisions of both Jammu and Kashmir Regions to celebrate the 78th Independence Day.
The department has been organising the events involving PRIs, NGOs, Volunteers of NSS, Paryavarn Mitras, school children and common people with the aim of spreading awareness about forest protection and environmental conservation.
The field functionaries of the Department have been organising events in connection with the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and ‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’ under which plantation is being taken up as part of nationwide celebration of this program.
Among others, APCCF, Kashmir T. Rabi Kumar; APCCF (FCA) S. Senthal Kumar and other senior officers along with a large number of field functionaries attended the function.
