DEO reviews SVEEP Campaign Action Plan at Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, AUGUST 23: District Election Officer (DEO) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan convened a meeting to review the progress on the implementation of the Action Plan for the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign in the district, ahead of the upcoming Assembly Election 2024.
The meeting saw participation from all Returning Officers (ROs), Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), and in-charges of Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs).
ROs and ELC incharges apprised the chair about the modalities to be adopted by them to conduct the SVEEP campaign ahead of the Assembly Election.
The discussion also centered on strategies to increase voter turnout, especially at polling stations with historically low participation rates. A key focus will be on direct voter engagement to encourage the exercise of voting rights, thereby strengthening democratic participation.
Rajesh Kumar Shavan emphasized the crucial role of ASHAs, Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and other concerned stakeholders in executing this extensive campaign. Their active involvement will be pivotal in ensuring that the SVEEP campaign reaches every corner of the district, motivating citizens to participate in the electoral process.
