Calls for taking concerted efforts to enhance voter turnout


SHOPIAN, AUGUST 31: General Observer for Zainapora AC, Jeevan Babu K today held a crucial meeting at the meeting hall of Mini Secretariat to review and assess the preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in the 36-Zainapora Assembly Constituency (AC).


The meeting was attended by various constituency nodal officers and district nodal officers responsible for different election-related activities.


During the meeting, each Nodal Officer provided a comprehensive briefing to the Observer on the preparations made so far.


The Nodal Officer for SVEEP presented a detailed overview of the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) initiatives, highlighting efforts to enhance voter turnout.


Other Nodal Officers, including those from Transport, MCC, EVM/ VVPAT, Trainings, Logistics, material, man power management, Media Management, Home Voting, and Law and Order, and others also briefed the Observer on their respective areas of responsibility.


The Observer asked for strengthening the SSTs and FSTs by way of logistics provision and provision of welfare measures for staff while calling for effective monitoring of their work round the clock, to curb illegal transactions.


He emphasized the need to improve voter turnout and stressed the importance of an effective action plan for the SVEEP program.


The Observer asked for extensive use of Social media for highlighting SVEEP activities across the Constituency by involving icons, students, influencers, posting election engagement creatives and content.


The meeting concluded with directives from the Observer to all Officers to ensure meticulous planning and execution to facilitate the smooth conduct of the elections.
