Science Quiz Competition Ignites Minds at GDCW Kathua

Kathua, September 3, 2024 – The Science Club of Government Degree College for Women, Kathua, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organized a Science Quiz Competition on the theme “Science in Day-to-Day Life.” The event, held to inspire scientific inquiry and promote academic excellence, brought together some of the brightest minds from various academic streams.

The quiz saw enthusiastic participation, with four teams competing in a challenging and intellectually stimulating environment. Covering a wide range of topics, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Computer Sciences, and General Knowledge, the competition tested the depth of students’ knowledge and their ability to think critically under pressure.

The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed Principal of GDCW Kathua, Dr. Savi Behl, along with prominent faculty members, including Dr. Inderjeet Kour, Dr. Babita Jamwal, Dr. Amita Dua, Dr. Ambica, Dr. Renu, Prof. Sachin Jeet Singh, Prof. Surbhi Gupta, Prof. Manjot Singh, Dr. Kamini Kapoor, Dr. Usha Kiran, and Dr. Gurpreet Kour.

Four teams, each consisting of three participants, competed fiercely in the quiz, which was conducted in two rounds. The questions escalated in difficulty, keeping both participants and the audience on the edge of their seats. After a riveting contest, Team D, comprising Gurmeet Kour, Nivrati, and Pallvi, emerged victorious, showcasing exceptional knowledge and quick thinking.

Dr. Savi Behl awarded the winning team with prizes and gifts, while the runners-up from Team B were also honored for their commendable performance. In her closing remarks, Dr. Behl congratulated all the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to continue their pursuit of knowledge with passion and curiosity.

The Science Quiz Competition at GDCW Kathua was not just a test of knowledge but also a valuable opportunity for students to interact, share ideas, and learn from one another. The event was highly appreciated by both participants and spectators, who lauded the college’s efforts in promoting a culture of academic excellence.
