Former spokesperson PDP, resigns from the party
September 06 : Former spokesperson Peoples Democratic Party Rouf Bhat resigned from the party ahead of Assembly elections. Stating reason behind his resignation to party chief Mehbooba Mufti, Rouf Bhat said that, “Keeping in view the disgraceful attitude of the party towards sincere and dedicated workers who proved their worth in most difficult times where majority of leaders across all parties had confined themselves in the cocoons of slumber to save their skin with next to nil activity on ground ,after giving it a deep thought I find that the deliberate omission of these sincere workers and adaption of parachoote entrants from vested lobbies was a replica of mistakes of the past which has got this region to the position we are in now. I feel deeply pained ,aghast and disrespectful and find myself respect tramped and leaves me with no option other than to resign from the basic membership of PDP. My journey with the party has been one of immense learning and growth, and i am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way during my tenure. I believe it is in the best interest for me to step aside from my role within the party. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the leadership, my colleagues, and supporters who have been a part of this journey.
