J&K Dharmarth Trust celebrates Varaha Jayanti with religious fervor at Shri Raghunath Ji Temple

JAMMU, Sep 6: The Jammu & Kashmir Dharmarth Trust today celebrated Varaha Jayanti with profound religious devotion at the historic Shri Raghunath Ji Temple, bringing together devotees and temple priests for a deeply spiritual celebration.

The sacred Pooja, dedicated to Lord Varaha, was conducted by the temple’s Pujaris in strict accordance with age-old traditions and rituals.

Lord Varaha, the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu, holds immense significance in Hindu mythology. According to scriptures, Lord Vishnu, in the form of a mighty boar, rescued the Earth from the depths of the ocean after it had been submerged by the demon Hiranyaksha. After a thousand-year battle, Varaha vanquished the demon, raising the Earth triumphantly on his tusks.

“Lord Varaha’s divine act symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, and his worship is believed to bestow blessings of prosperity, happiness, and health upon devotees,” remarked the Head Pujari of the Trust during the event.

Devotees gathered in large numbers to offer prayers, seeking the divine blessings of Lord Varaha for personal well-being and the welfare of society. The auspicious occasion was marked by an atmosphere of reverence, as the faithful prayed for the continued peace, prosperity, and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.

Ashok Kumar Sharma (IPS Retd), Secretary of Dharmarth Trust, offered his prayers to Lord Varaha, hoping for the region’s lasting peace, unity, and spiritual upliftment. He appealed to all devotees to uphold the values of goodness and righteousness, as exemplified by Lord Varaha’s victory over evil.
