Mumbai: 6 arrested in Ferozepur triple murder case after overnight operation
Aurangabad (Maharashtra) [India], September 7 (ANI): In an overnight operation, the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Aurangabad city police arrested six shooters involved in the recent Ferozepur triple murder case. The accused were apprehended while fleeing along the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Super Expressway. Along with the shooters, the police also arrested the driver of the vehicle, who is from Nanded.
Police Commissioner Pravin Pawar confirmed that the city police successfully executed the operation, arresting seven individuals. The operation was carried out effectively, and the forces managed to arrest the accused who were trying to escape in a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), which was reportedly picked up from Nanded, said Pawar.
According to reports, the arrests were part of a coordinated effort led by the anti-gangster task force of Punjab Police, headed by Additional Director General Pramod Bhan, Commissioner Pawar, and central agencies. The arrested shooters have been identified as Ravinder Singh alias Ravi, Sukhchain Singh, Akshay Kumar alias Bachcha, Daler Singh, Gurpreet Singh, and Prince, all from Punjab. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Gajendra Shriram from Nanded.
The arrests occurred near the Sawangi tunnel of the Samruddhi Super Expressway, which is within the city police limits. Punjab Police officials reported that the shooters were captured while exiting the tunnel.
The Ferozepur triple murder case involved a violent attack on Tuesday afternoon. According to the police, the accused fired around 36 bullets at their targets as the victims’ car approached Gurdwara Sri Akalgarh Sahib in Ferozepur. The attack resulted in the death of Jaspreet Kaur (22) on the spot, while her cousin Dildeep Singh (32) and an acquaintance, Akashdeep Singh, died later in the hospital. Jaspreet’s brother Anmol Singh and another individual were injured and are currently in critical condition.
Jaspreet Kaur was scheduled to marry in the coming days. The Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar city police set a trap after learning that the accused had fled to the Samruddhi Expressway and successfully captured them while they were trying to escape in an MPV hired from Nanded.
