Multiple Voter Awareness activities held at GHS Jankhar under SVEEP

KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 10: As part of District SVEEP plan, a series of voter awareness activities were organized at GHS Jankhar in 65-Basohli AC , as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, a flagship program of the Election Commission of India.


The event attracted a large number of students, faculty members, BLO Supervisors, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, community members, and BLOs from nearby polling booths.


The primary objective of these activities was to engage and motivate young voters, particularly first-time voters, to actively participate in the upcoming elections on 1st October 2024. The campaign promoted the idea of ‘Be A Proud Voter’ encouraging all eligible voters to use their right to vote and contribute to the formation of a popular government.


Attendees had the opportunity to interact with key figures involved in the SVEEP program, including the Nodal Officer SVEEP for 65-Basohli, Dr. Roshan Lal, Dr. Prathibha Ankur, Ashwani Kumar of SVEEP Cell. They urged participants to use social media platforms to promote SVEEP activities and ensure that no eligible voter is left behind in this crucial democratic exercise.


The event also emphasized the significance of each vote, with speakers stressing that even a single vote can influence the outcome of an election.


The event was attended by Sector Officer Balwant Raj along with the staff and students from Govt. Middle School Band.


The program, guided by Returning Officer (RO) 65-Basohli, Anil Kumar Thakur was anchored by Incharge Head of the School Maan Singh.


The event concluded with a joint pledge-taking ceremony, where all attendees committed to vote fearlessly and without bias in the upcoming elections.
