Haryana poised for multi-cornered contests on several seats

New Delhi [India], September 12 (ANI): The Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and Azad Samaj Party (ASP) alliance on Thursday announced two more candidates for the Haryana assembly elections.

JJP fielded Rajita Singh from Shahabad and Suresh Saini from Narnaul. JJP-ASP has also extended its support to independent candidate Sajjan Dhul from Pundri.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also released its seventh list of three candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly election on Thursday. The party has announced candidates for all 90 assembly seats of the state.

The stage is set for multi-cornered contest in Haryana on several seats with BJP and Congress also announcing all their candidates. The nomination process ended on Thursday.

Leaders of various parties have expressed confidence of their victory in the polls. While the BJP is seeking third straight term in office, Congress, AAP and other parties are seeking to oust it from power. The run-up to the polls saw some leaders resigning from their parties over denial of ticket.

Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5 and votes will be counted on October 8.

In the 2019 assembly polls, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 40 seats while Congress won 30 seats. It formed the government in alliance with JJP.
