Central University of Jammu Organizes Smart India Internal Hackathon 2024

Jammu, 13 Sept 2024: The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Central University of Jammu, organized an Internal Hackathon for nominating teams for participation in Smart India Hackathon 2024 (SIH-2024), demonstrating the department’s commitment to fostering innovation and technological excellence. Smart India Hackathon 2024 (SIH-2024) is a nationwide initiative of Government of India that provides student a platform to solve real time problems and to inculcate a culture of product innovation among students.The event was held on 5th-6th September 2024, where 35 teams initially registered, and 12 teams were selected after a competitive internal selection process to showcase their skills and creativity.

Participants worked diligently over two days, brainstorming and developing solutions to tackle real-world challenges. The event buzzed with enthusiasm as students harnessed their creativity, collaborated seamlessly, and ventured into uncharted technological territory. From ideation to final execution, each phase of the hackathon highlighted the ingenuity and drive of our teams. Their solutions not only exemplified technical skills but also reflected a keen understanding of the practical challenges we face today, positioning themselves for success at the national level of SIH-2024.A panel of experts comprises of faculty members of the department and nominated faculty members from ECE department had evaluated the proposals of various teams. Dr. Jaswinder Singh and Dr. Palak Mahajan, Assistant Professor of the CSE department were the coordinator of this internal hackathon.

Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Honorable Vice Chancellor congratulated the shortlisted teams on their achievement and gave his best wishes to the students for the national competition. Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar appreciated the efforts of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering for motivating the students of the department to take part in such nationwide competitions. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head – CSE also congratulated the students and wished them good luck for the SIH 2024 national competition.
