Block Diwas held at Brarigund in Block BK Pora of Budgam
Besides overall development of people, employment & cleanliness among top priorities: DC
BUDGAM, February 23: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid chaired a public grievances redressal camp as part of weekly Block Diwas initiative at Panchayat Halqa Brari Gund in Block BK Pora of the district.
The programme was held at Government Middle School, where PRIs, respected elders and local youth delegations from villages Brarigund, Wadipora and other adjacent villages raised their demands with the DC.
The DC gave them patients hearing and assured all their genuine demands shall be addressed on priority.
At the outset, the DC said that besides overall development of people, self-employment and cleanliness are among top priorities for District Administration in Budgam.
Stressing on providing better education facilities, the DC instructed CEO Budgam to expedite ongoing work on High School Brarigund and ensure early work execution on Higher Secondary School Brarigund Project.
The DC instructed SDM Chadoora to ensure services related to revenue and land records are given in the timely manner.
He said that a joint awareness camp shall be conducted in Panchayat Halqa Brarigund on March- 02, for registration under various schemes and awareness of different self-employment avenues among local youths.
Emphasizing on providing better road, transport, educational and health facilities, the DC also directed concerned to ensure prompt delivery of public services.
He instructed PDD authorities to ensure execution of improvement works and power supply connectivity to locals.
DC directed that a suitable patch of land be identified for the development of playground facility for local youth.
DC urged youth to participate in co- curricular activities and appealed to elders to ensure tight vigil that their wards remain away from drugs or any other social evil.
Stressing on awareness generation about government schemes, the DC also urged locals to register under different self-employment, welfare and amnesty schemes including PDD’s amnesty scheme to take maximum benefits under these schemes.
The DC also took assessment of facilities related to drinking water, Sheep and Animal husbandry, Agriculture and other allied sectors being provided to locals by concerned offices.
Among others, SDM Chadoora, Prince Noorul Hamid, Xen PDD, ARTO, BDO, Tehsildar, DSHO and concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, awareness on water testing was also conducted by the concerned Pani Samiti Committee.
