SVEEP: ‘Jashn-e-Jamhoor’ held at Polo View Market ignites spirit of participation & responsibility among citizens

Underscores the importance of every vote; emphasizes on huge voter turnout on Election Day


SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 23: A grand mega event titled ‘Sham-e-Jamhoor’ under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative of the government was today organised at historic Polo View Market Srinagar.


The event, organised by District Election Officer Srinagar was aimed to raise awareness about the significance of voting and encourage citizens, especially the youth, to actively participate in the Assembly Election scheduled for 25th September in Srinagar District.


The event was graced by the presence of M Tharun Patnaik, Assistant Commissioner with Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, and Qazi Akhtar, UT Nodal Officer SVEEP; Ahsan-Ul-Haq Chishti, Nodal Officer MCMC/ Media and District Nodal Officer SVEEP besides other concerned officers/ officials and large number of public were also present on the occasion.


‘Jashn-e-Jamhoor’, witnessed a diverse range of cultural and musical performances by the students of GHS Nawakadal, Amar Singh College and University of Kashmir, which enthralled the audience and garnered a huge round of applause from them.


The performances, which focused on the importance of voting and the power of each citizen’s voice, were well-received by the audience, igniting a spirit of participation and responsibility.


The programme underscored the importance of every vote and its role in shaping the democratic future of Jammu and Kashmir.
