Priyanka’s visit to Bishnah a gamechanger: Bhardwaj

Bishnah,SEPTEMBER 29: Working president J&K Congress Mr Mohinder Bhardwaj has said that yesterday’s visit of AICC  general secretary Mrs Priyanka Gandhi to this border constituency is going to be a gamechanger for the Congress-National Conference alliance in the entire Jammu region and in particular in rural sub-region of which Bishnah is a pivot. The overwhelming response which her visit evoked among the people and their mood has demoralised the BJP.

Mr Bhardwaj said that a pro-Congress atmosphere was created with the visit of Leader of Opposition Mr Rahul Gandhi to Jammu during which he addressed a successful public meeting and more importantly interacted with a very responsive gathering of intellectuals and opinion makers of Jammu. Mrs Gandhi’s last minute public meeting to Bishnah has proved to be an icing on the cake which has created a Congress wave in the entire border belt of the sub-region.

Referring to the thrustful manner in which she raised the plethora of issues and problems being faced by people of Jammu and Kashmir, and Jammu in  particular, he said it has further brought clarity in the people’s mind regarding Congress’s commitment to resolve their problems right from the granting back of statehood, to protecting land and employment rights particularly with reference to the Agniveer scheme, agricultural stress, installation of electronic power meters and a failed civic system. The impressive manner in which Mrs Gandhi reflected on these problems backed by facts and figures, has strengthened people’s belief as to how serious Congress and its top leadership has been to fight for their cause.

“With MrRahul Gandhi during the course of his interactions in Jammu openly declaring that he will be advocating Jammu and Kashmir’s cause in Parliament with full might and Mrs Gandhi throwing her weight behind him to raise these issue from public and party platforms, there is no doubt in people’s mind that Congress, as has already been doing, will take up the cause of Jammu and Kashmir more vigorously. With the election of Congress MLAs and formation of Congress-National Conference alliance government, this fight will have an added dimension- from Parliament to Assembly to the roads, ” he observed.

Mr Bhardwaj felt the visits of both Mr Gandhi and Mrs Priyanka Gandhi, has created a panic in the BJP camp despite high-profile visits by Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi failing to cut any ice with the people. ” While Congress’s top leadership spoke about the party’s agenda and commitments, Mr Modi and other BJP leaders only spread lies and made false promises which they have also been making in the past without delivering on anything.”  People have lost total confidence in the BJP in view of their poor performance and failure to fulfill promises made during the last 10 years, he added.

“A clear sign of panic striking BJP and its dispensation in Delhi and Jammu is the manner in which Mrs Priyanka Gandhi’s helicopter was prevented from landing in Billawar to address an election rally. They were unnerved by the response of the people to ultimately stop her from reaching Billawar. However, this has led to people understanding the diabolical plans of the panic stricken saffron party and in turn strengthening their belief in the leadership of Mr Rahul Gandhi and Congress,” he said.

Mr Bhardwaj appealed to people of the areas going to poll in the third phase of election to seize this opportunity and vote for the Congress-National Conference I.N.D.I.A combine voters.  “Now is the chance to strike and teach communal forces led by BJP a lesson, ” he said.
