DC Poonch visits Child Care Institute for Girls in Mangnar, emphasizes Skill Development, Quality Services

POONCH, OCTOBER 03: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today visited the Child Care Institute for Girls, “Pareesha,” as part of a comprehensive initiative to assess the conditions of child care institutions.


The institute currently houses 38 girls and the visit aimed at ensuring their overall well-being while improving the quality of services provided to them.


Kundal undertook a detailed tour of the institute, inspecting every corner to ensure the facilities met the required standards. He conducted a thorough review of the food roster, checked nutritional standards and ensured the kitchen maintained strict hygiene protocols. On-spot instructions were issued to the District Social Welfare Officer, Poonch, for immediate improvements in both the quality of food and educational resources provided to the inmates.


During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of skill development and sports activities in promoting the holistic development of the girls. He engaged with the children, who interacted enthusiastically, sharing their concerns, aspirations and needs.


The girls specifically requested Wi-Fi access to support their studies and the DC assured them of his full support, promising to address the request promptly.


Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the institute’s staff, discussing the quality of education and other support services. He stressed the need for continuous improvement in the educational environment, ensuring the girls receive the best possible opportunities for growth and learning.


Accompanying the Deputy Commissioner were District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Bhat and District Tax Officer, Qurat Ul Ain, along with other senior officials.
