EJM celebrates Wildlife Week 2024

Leh, October 3, 2024: Department of Zoology organised ‘Wildlife Week 2024’ on October 3, 2024 at the Multipurpose Hall of EJM College Leh. The program began with the traditional auspicious lamp lightning by Principal, Dr Sameena Iqbal, Prof Deskyong Namghal, Shri Lobzang Vishuddha and Dr Mohd Murtaza

The keynote Speaker for the programme was Prof Deskyong Namghal, Controller of Examination, University of Ladakh and Shri Lobzang Vishuddha, Chairman Wildlife Conservation and Bird Club Ladakh.

During the programme, Prof Deskyong spoke and emphasized on the importance of Wildlife conservation and community involvement. Sh Lobzang Vishuddha discussed about Connecting People and planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation with reference to Birds and Mammals of Ladakh” and shared their experience related to wildlife conservation.

An Exhibition cum Chart Presentation by more than 90 students were presented on the theme of “Wildlife Wonders: Painting / Drawing Local Faunas”. Padma Nurzeen of 5th semester secured 1st position, Tashi Dolkar of 1st semester secured 2nd position and Natasha Soni of 3rd semester secured 3rd position in the exhibition. Chief guest Prof Deskyong Namghal, Principal Dr Sameena Iqbal and Shri Lobzang Vishuddha distributed the prizes. Principal Dr Sameena Iqbal presented appreciation certificates to guests.

The Wildlife Week celebration will continue with series of lecture by different experts till October 8, 2024 at EJM College.
