ADDC Rajouri chairs meeting of JWC to strengthen Cooperative Movement in the district

RAJOURI, OCTOBER 11: In a significant move to bolster the cooperative movement in Rajouri district, Additional District Development Commissioner Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, chaired a crucial meeting with concerned members of the Joint Working Committee (JWC).


The meeting aimed to discuss and finalize modalities for strengthening the cooperative sector, focusing on eight key areas.


A number of points discussed including the identification of uncovered Areas, liquidation and revival, farmer mobilization, registration and governance, Business Development Plans, Banking and Linkages, Monitoring and Review and Setting up District Federations.


The chair also directed to expedite the process of liquidation of defunct PACS, and also directed to revive the defunct dairy and fishery cooperatives in a time bound manner. The directions were passed to explore the possibilities of forming new fisheries cooperatives in Block Budhal and Darhal.


In order to spread awareness regarding the cooperative sector in district Rajouri, the chair directed all the members to jointly organise massive awareness camps, workshops and install awareness booths on the weekly block diwas program.


The meeting was attended by the DPO, Mohammad Nawaz Choudhary; Dy Registrar CS, Adnan Rathar; CAHO, Dr Khalid Hussain; DDM NABARD, AD Fisheries, Bodh Raj and AR Cooperative Mohd Naseer and other concerned officers.
