BJP Minority Morcha pays tributes to Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam

JAMMU, October 15: Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu & Kashmir paid warm tributes to the former President of India, Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary and remembered his life and services to the nation and the society.

The tributes programme was organized by the Minority Morcha, J&K BJP led by its President Sardar Ranjodh Singh Nalwa at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

“Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the “Missile Man of India,” inspired millions with his powerful words and exemplary life”, said Sat Sharma, while paying tributes to the former President of India, Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary.

Sat Sharma, working President, J&K BJP accompanied by Balbir Ram Rattan, former VC, Dr Pardeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, J&K BJP, Naresh Singh Jasrotia, Additional Office Secretary, Santokh Singh, General Secretary, Minority Morcha, Jasmeet Kour & Harpal Singh Bali, Vice Presidents Minority Morcha, Sanjay Bakshi, and the whole team of BJP Minority Morcha paid tributes to the tall personality of Independent India.

“Born in 1931 on 15 October, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was a leading Indian aerospace scientist and a statesman. Served as the 11th President of India, he played a leading role in the development of India’s missile and nuclear weapons programs. Dr Kalam has inspired millions with his inspirational speeches and writings on education, youth empowerment, and spirituality. Due to his popularity among the masses especially the youth and his contribution to the Missile technology, he is also known as the “People’s President” and the “Missile Man of India”.

Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, paying his tributes to the great leader said that Dr Kalam was one of the few presidents who touched the hearts of millions of people and left an indelible imprint on their minds. It is owing to this popularity he enjoyed among the masses that he came to be called the People’s President.

Dr. Pardeep Mahotra said that due to his professional excellence and contribution to the science programmes in India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was awarded Padma Bhushan in 1981, Padma Vibhushan in 1990, and Bharat Ratna in 1997. He was also a recipient of Honorary doctorates from many universities worldwide, said Dr Pardeep.

Balbir Ram Rattan, stressing his simplicity said that after having served his term as President, Dr Kalam returned to his work in education, writing, and public service. Dr. Kalam passed away while giving a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, he added.
