Deputy Commissioner Leh Santosh Sukhadeve chaired 21st and 22nd meeting of District Level Committee under the NCORD Mechanism

Leh, October 16, 2024: The Deputy Commissioner Leh Santosh Sukhadeve chaired the 21st and 22nd meeting of District Level Committee under the Narco Coordination Center (NCORD) Mechanism today on October 16, at Video Conference Hall, DC office Leh.

SSP Leh, Shruti Arora, provided an overview of the cases under NCORD in Leh District. Additionally, officers/officials from other department also briefed about the progress and shared data related to the NCORD Mechanism.

DC Leh reviewed the meeting and instructed key agencies like Ladakh Police and Intelligence Bureau to coordinate in sharing intelligence related to drugs for easier monitoring of cases. He also directed Ladakh Police to send a requisition letter to NCB Jammu to send narco testing kits before the road is closed.

Additionally, DC Leh directed Chief Education Officer to screen awareness videos on drug de-addiction in schools to educate students and parents. He also directed Distict Social Welfare Officer to publicize the vacant post for a Doctor at the District De-addiction Centre.

The meeting aimed to assess ongoing initiatives and enhancing collaborative efforts to combat drug abuse. The meeting was attended by SSP Leh Shruti Arora and officers and officials from various departments. Vinod Kumar, SI, NCB attended the meeting through video conference.
