West Bengal: Woman found dead in Krishnanagar’s Nadia, Congress accuses police of being ‘dismissive’
Krishnanagar (West Bengal) [India], October 17 (ANI): After the half-burnt body of an unidentified woman was found in West Bengal’s Nadia district on Wednesday, the State Congress President Subhankar Sarkar said that current Superintendent of Police (SP) is disdainful and had projected this as a common incident.
“I think that if the investigation will be held under the supervision of the SP, it won’t be impartial. He doesn’t listen to anything – he wants to project this as a common incident. His attitude is arrogant which is not good for the people,” he said.
The mother of the deceased also clamied that the investigation into the matter was being taken lightly and is suspicious that the accused could have killed her daughter on the pretext of refusing to marry.
“Police investigation is not being done properly. I will go to the High Court tomorrow to demand a CBI investigation. There are flaws in the investigation as learnt from the R.G Kar case. The main accused, Rahul proposed marriage to her, but she refused. Maybe, he killed her brutally due to this,” she said.
