3rd UTRC meeting held at Ramban

RAMBAN, OCTOBER 17: As per NALSA’s annual calendar for the year 2024, today, the District Legal Services Authority, Ramban under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority, convened the 3rd meeting of the Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) here today at District Court Complex.

The meeting was held to expedite the identification and review of prisoners belonging to district Ramban, who are lodged in District Jail Udhampur and are eligible to be considered for bail as well as to accelerate the regular functioning of the committee and review the state of all eligible under-trial prisoners (UTPs)

The meeting was chaired by Deepak Sethi, Chairman (Principal District & Sessions Judge), District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ramban and attended by the key members of the Under Trial Review Committee.

The committee reviewed the cases of the eligible UTPs shortlisted by the Secretary (Sub-Judge), District Legal Services Authority Ramban, Priyanka Mahajan. The Committee took up and discussed 10-cases, however, none of the cases was recommended for immediate release.

The meeting was attended by Secretary DALSA, Additional District Commissioner, Additional Superintendent of Police, Public Prosecutor, Deputy LADC and Assistant LADC.
