The four-day Paragliding Flying Festival and Hospitality Expo kicked off in Junga, located 30 km from Shimla, on Wednesday. The event was inaugurated by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shiv Pratap Shukla, and 400 paragliding pilots have participated.

This marks the second time such a paragliding competition has been organized in Junga, with excitement running high among participants and organisers alike.

In his inaugural speech, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla emphasised the dual objectives of fostering adventure tourism and increasing the popularity of places like Junga. “The Shimla Flying Festival, organised in Junga village of Shimla, is not just about a few people attending an event. It is about promoting adventure tourism in Himachal Pradesh. I thank the organisers for hosting this programme for the second consecutive year. This initiative will undoubtedly benefit the entire state and boost the popularity of Junga,” Shukla said.
