“All arrangements made to ensure poll code”: Moradabad SP highlights 3-tier security system for UP bypolls
Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 18 (ANI): With notification for by-polls to nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh to be issued on Friday, Moradabad Superintendent of Police Ranvijay Singh outlined the security measures put in place. He stated that a three-tier security system has been implemented and all arrangements have been made to ensure adherence to the Model Code of Conduct.
Speaking to ANI, Moradabad SP Ranvijay Singh said, “Nominations will be filed in the DM Office. All arrangements have been made. A three-layer security system has been enforced, consisting of the outer cordon, inner cordon, and isolation.”
“Adequate force has been deployed, including three gazetted officers, 10 Inspector, 25 Sub-Inspectors, 50 Head Constables, and 150 constables. Directions have been conveyed to the candidates. Compliance will be ensured as per the Model Code of Conduct,” said the official.
The Uttar Pradesh bypolls are slated to be held on nine Assembly seats including Meerapur, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Khair, Karhal, Phulpur, and Katehari.
While polling will take place on November 13, counting of votes is scheduled for November 23, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Tuesday.
The poll body has announced bypolls for nine of the 10 vacant assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, except Milkipur of Ayodhya district.
The Election Commission has kept the polling for Milkipur seat in Ayodhya in abeyance due to pending of an election petition, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad said on Wednesday that the seat has become very important as it is connected to Akhilesh Yadav and Ayodhya.
Prasad told ANI that when he resigned from the seat after becoming the MP, it was the moral duty of the BJP member to take back his writ.
The bypolls are spread over 15 states – Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
