DHEW Reasi organises awareness event on Women centric schemes

REASI, February 25: District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Reasi in collaboration with SBIRESTI, Reasi organised an awareness programme on the role of District Hub for Empowerment of women and other women-centric schemes at Village Ghayla Panchayat Suketar Ghayla, today.

The programme was attended by the PRI’s, AWWs, AWHs, Local Women and children of the adjoining areas.

The Gender Specialist Rita imparted awareness to the participants about the women welfare schemes including women helpline 181, one-stop centre for women, PMMVY, PMKVY, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Livelihood schemes for women entrepreneurs, Indira Gandhi National old age pension scheme, pension scheme for widows, Pension scheme for disabled people, Restructure of  UTMAS, Tejaswini scheme, role and functioning of SBIRESTI, Childline 1098, ICPS and other women related Schemes.

She also briefed about the services provided at One Stop Centre for women such as medical, psycho-social counselling, legal aid, shelter, WHL 181. The team also raised awareness on Domestic Violence Act 2005, Cyber Crime, Stalking and other crimes existing in the society

At the end of the programme, Gender Specialist Rita distributed baby kits and pamphlets containing information about women-centric schemes. The grievances of participating women were also noted and they were assured to provide adequate help at the earliest.
